The e-Discovery Team Training program has a new vendor participating in its online education services: Kroll Ontrack. Kroll Ontrack has been a leader in e-discovery education for decades. We are pleased to include their new online classes as a part of our training program; its open online 24/7. All students registered in the e-Discovery Team training are welcome to attend. Not already registered? There is no charge to register; its takes only 30-seconds. The Vendor participation program we set up is a new wiki-economics type collaboration where we tap the expertise of the world’s top e-discovery vendors. It is further described in the Vendor Ed page of our online school.
There is one other change to our training program you should know about. We’ve listened to students, and lowered the tuition of e-Discovery Team Training by eliminating the expert-interaction level. This now allows students to enroll in the whole program, all 62 classes and testing to verify successful completion, for $1,000. You can also still take the 62-classes only, and forgo the tests, for just $500. That gets you a three credit law school type course for a deep dive into the subject. Our program is about training. The testing is secondary and optional. The full price to be entitled to testing used to be $1,500, so this cut to $1,000 for classes and tests is significant. This change responds not only to price sensitivity, but also to the growing demand for some kind of process to verify a student’s understanding. More on this controversial certification issue in an upcoming blog.
Online Vendor Classes
The vendor classes of Kroll and our other vendors supplement and enrich the basic 62 class program. The participating vendors also provide our students with access to experts above and beyond myself and my e-discovery friends. This makes up for the elimination of the expert-interaction level that we recently phased out.
All registered students in the e-Discovery Team Training program, including the almost 400 that have already signed-up for the free classes, may attend Kroll’s classes for free, and that of all of our other vendors listed below. The classes consist on a self-contained private website filled with a wealth of valuable information. Students may also avail themselves of the Kroll experts assigned to these online classes. Their experts will respond to any email or phone questions our students may have, including help with the homework assignments included in many of the 62-classes. (Of course, no specific technical or legal advice is ever provided by the e-Discovery Team Training program, just educational services.)
Naturally, Kroll Ontrack will also be available to answer any questions that a student may have concerning their products and services, but that is secondary and incidental. The same is true for the other distinguished vendor participants who either are, or soon will, offer their own supplemental training programs as part of the wiki-power of e-Discovery Team Training. The other vendors already participating are:
Fios, Inc. (class under construction)
ZyLab Technologies (class under construction)
Clearwell Systems (class under construction)
Here is the key excerpt from Kroll’s press release announcing their participation in e-Discovery Team Training:
“E-discovery education serves as the survival guide to modern litigation and is an absolute necessity for law students, attorneys and anyone with discovery responsibilities,” said Kubacki. “Proactively gaining an understanding of how to navigate this tricky process that consistently plagues corporations, law firms and government entities will also provide students of the E-Discovery Team Training Program with a competitive edge in the marketplace and increase their value within organizations as a vital legal and technical resource. Kroll Ontrack looks forward to this partnership with Losey and with all students of the program to provide only the highest quality education in this exciting field.”
