West Thomson has just released my new book entitled Adventures in Electronic Discovery. I think it is my best. A marriage of law and technology. You can order it now online from the publisher. Per my insistence, it’s only $79, which, believe it or not, is relatively inexpensive for legal books. Here’s the cover.
Here is what West came up with for the back cover to describe the book.
Ralph Losey, the lawyer, writer and educator behind the e-Discovery Team blog has once again put together an engaging, comprehensive and substantive work covering the latest thinking in electronic discovery. Readers of his e-Discovery Team blog know that he is compelled to think and write about e-discovery, leading him regularly to pen weekly three- to six-thousand word essays in which he analyzes and explains new law in the making in a manner that places the law in a cultural context. After blogging, the articles are peer reviewed and then reworked into cohesive substantive books exploring this developing area of the law. The author, and a variety of sources upon which he reports including The Sedona Conference and the EDRM group among others, contribute insights that pertain to all aspects of the eld.
In this work, Losey sets forth four keys to successful e-discovery: Interdisciplinary Teams where IT, Law, and other disciplines work together on e-discovery challenges; Cooperation on discovery issues; Metrics and Advanced Technologies where estimation, math, measurements, quality control, and advanced technologies are used to manage e-discovery and contain costs and risks; and Education.
· Lively, up-to-date coverage of hot issues, cases and trends
· Spans the past year’s topics covered on the author’s popular blog
· Interviews with experts provide deep insight
· Substantive and detailed analysis of the latest, big-impact cases
This book, like the first three I wrote on this subject, is essentially a paper version of last year’s blog, but spruced up and reorganized. Yes. I made it into an adventure, which, I think, is a pretty good word to describe this field of law.
It makes a good reference for my regular blog readers who may have seen most of it before. It also makes a good gift for their friends and colleagues. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Where’s the Kindle edition so I can read it while doing hours-long data collections?
